ECS 7″ Oak Trail-Powered Tablet

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has introduced a series of Oak Trail-powered tablets at CeBIT 2011. Intel’s Oak Trail processor that’s been designed for portable computers has finally found its way into the innards of a tablet. At CeBIT 2011, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) revealed a series of Oak Trail tablets that look pretty promising. One of these devices revealed was a 7” model that featured an Intel Atom Z670 Lincroft processor. It packs a 7” WSVGA (1024 X 600) capacitive touchscreen, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a SSD for internal storage (size unmentioned), a 3 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, optional 3.5G, and runs on Windows 7. However according to its specs sheet, MeeGo and Android 3.0 Honeycomb were listed as options for the operating system. No prices were mentioned but the tablet is expected to enter mass production stages in May.
